How Did I Get Here?

In 2022, I accidentally became a Virtual Assistant.

I’ve had an entrepreneurial spirit my whole life. As a kid, I was always dreaming and scheming ways to make money and start new projects, and this drive led to future endeavours like running a home-based hair salon, hosting my own podcast, and a variety of other things.

I developed a widely varied skillset, and if I didn’t know how to do something, I would obsessively research, experiment, and ask questions until I figured it out. All of these experiences also led me to amass a huge network of people - many of whom were entrepreneurs themselves.

In 2022, an acquaintance and small business owner reached out to let me know she was looking for a Virtual Assistant. I didn’t even really know what that meant, but once she explained it, I jumped at the opportunity. I’m still working with her 4 years later, along with several other clients, and I absolutely LOVE what I do.

I love embracing my creativity and skills behind-the-scenes, and helping to grow and optimize other small businesses is something very close to my heart. My clients have often remarked on how I treat their businesses with the same dedication as if they were my own, and honestly…it’s because I care about them as if they were.

In 2024, I knew it was time to get serious and create a legitimate business around my services, and Hearthside Virtual was born. I continued working as a hairstylist too, but at the end of 2025, I officially stepped away from my 14-year salon career to dedicate myself to my business full-time.

I haven’t looked back since, and today, I know I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be.
